Marcel Duchamp's Rotoreliefs which Duchamp refused to label as being art, preferring them to be looked upon as scientific educational items. In a joint venture with Henri Pierre Roche, the Rotoreliefs were first shown at the salon des inventions, Paris in 1935. 500 sets of the six coloured disks were produced for all to enjoy placed on a gramophone, spinning at 33rpm.
